Acceptance is a pretty essential part of relationships. If we can't appreciate someone for who they truly are, there is little hope for our dynamic with them to be a happy one. Nonetheless, that doesn't stop people from having romantic partners who they barely even like, let alone approve of.

However, not everybody is going to take that to the judgmental heights of one Redditor, who feared the opinions of others when it came to his girlfriend's interior design choices.
Complaining on r/AmItheAsshole that he was scared to socialize with colleagues at his partner's place, he blamed her 'juvenile' interests of animation and sea creatures which decorated the apartment. Unsurprisingly, Redditors felt he had taken in an unnecessary step by hurting her feelings over this. This probably goes deeper than plain old professionalism.
